The Teacher had been sitting in a squat position for over 3 hours teaching his students. Leeds Manager Marcelo Bielsa would be proud.

He springs up with the agility of a teenager and walks towards Musalman.

How are you feeling now?

Musalman scratches his head and retorts that he feels no pain, yet is somehow weak.
The teacher shakes his head and beckons Musalman to get up.

Let’s go. I think I know whats up with you… you will be shocked to discover that you have an incredible superpower.

Superpower hey ? That sounds exciting! He gingerly gets to his feet and follows the old man into a lush meadow-like area.

I want you to make a mental note of your energy and strength level at this moment, and also after…

“After wha…”

He doesn’t get a chance to finish his question when he feels the slam of a MRF cricket bat slamming into his back with tremendous velocity, dropping him to his knees.

What a shot! Six Runs! Pulls it over midwicket for a glorious maximum*Teacher speaks in Geoff Boycott voice*

What the ???

Musalman reaches for his back to feel the impact of the unexpected cheap shot. Shocked, he realizes that there is Zero bruising.

I feel, abit… better (?)

But howwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!

The crunching sound of wood on flesh echoes in the meadow as another shot drops him onto the soft ground.

Straight drive , what a shot, no need to run!

Now? how do you feel now? Enquires our teacher-turned-Tendulkar

Musalman already standing:

Even stronger

The teacher smiles and nods.
He attempts another wild swing at Musalmans head.
This time though, Musalman blocks the shot, crushing the cricket bat into a million pieces of sawdust, blowing in the wind.

I get it. My superpower is Pain. The more pain I feel, the stronger I get.
Now tell me who you are and why I am here…

The teacher smiles and puts his hand on the shoulder of Musalman.

My name is Hajji Alli Khan Saheb. And like my namesake, I came here to atone for a past I felt I needed redemption from. I am but a mere piece in the puzzle of your life development, as was the wish of your grandfather.

He saw at a young age after walking you to school, how you beat a bully in kindergarten who had hit you on the head with a toy so hard that he flew into the hedges at your school, many metres away.

Now begins your strength training.

What is different for you than everyone else, is that pain derived from exercise and strenuous, hardcore, heavy workouts will make you stronger than you can ever imagine.

But first, some lassi.

Musalman, bewildered, looks at his teacher and asks:

Why, does it have magic to help me further?

Hajji Alli replies with a smile on his face:

Nope, I’m just thirsty.
